Girvan Tattie Fest 2026!

Sat 13th June 2026

It's almost time for the Girvan Tattie Fest!

To ensure the festival is fully weatherproof this year, we will be pitching two massive marquees on-site. Everything will be completely undercover, so even if we get a repeat of last year's rain, it won’t matter—we will all be kept warm and dry!

🎪 Main Festival (1pm – 5pm)

Location: The Putting Green

We are delighted to announce that the Girvan & District Pipe Band will be officially opening the festival on the Putting Green. From there, we have a fantastic line-up for all ages:

Circus in the Big Top: Spectacular live shows alongside interactive circus skills workshops.

Little Peru: Come and meet the lovely local alpacas!

Boating Pond: Free tickets available for everyone, perfect for friends and family to get out on the water together!

The Kite Club of Scotland: Joining us with their magnificent giant kites.

The Iris Ayr: Coming down to host an incredible silent disco.

Under Sky: Back with plenty of fun activities for the wee ones.

The Live Shows are completely free, but spaces are limited and booking is essential. Please select your preferred time slot below to secure your tickets:

Alongside the entertainment, visitors can browse a superb host of local craft stalls showcasing talented regional makers. A delicious selection of refreshments will also be available on-site, featuring tasty options from The Tattie Stop, Drift Coffee, and Girvan Gelateria.

🌊 Expanded Festival Fringe

This year, the celebrations expand beyond the main site with an exciting fringe programme across the town.

The Wave (11am – 1pm) Kicking things off early in the morning, The Wave will be hosting an 'Open Doors' event. Families can look forward to a bouncy castle for the kids, fun tattie crafts, and an array of delicious home baking—including traditional, freshly made tattie scones.

The Community Garden (1pm – 8pm) Over in the fabulously relaxing surrounds of The Community Garden, you'll be able to continue the celebration into the evening. They'll have a stellar line-up of live music, including the Girvan Brass Band and the Ukulele Orchestra from Dalrymple, alongside a licensed bar and a selection of delicious Ayrshire tattie based dishes, including the famous traditional favourite: Tatties, Sybies, and Butter! (Tickets £5, kids go free).

🏛️ The Ayrshire Tattie Exhibition at The McKechnie Institute

Running from Tuesday 9th June to Friday 19th June 2026

Step into The McKechnie Institute to discover the remarkable story of the humble Ayrshire Tattie. Located in the Billiard Room, this fascinating showcase explores the deep roots of our famous local harvest, charting its unique journey from a vital agricultural staple to its proud status as an officially protected regional delicacy (PGI).

It is a wonderful celebration of both the farming grit and the vibrant cultural legacy that truly put Girvan on the map. In particular, the display highlights the profound impact of the howkers, the seasonal workers whose hard work, unique traditions, and community spirit left an unforgettable mark on our local culture. Be sure to plan a visit to explore this captivating display that honours our shared heritage, local identity, and tradition.

Exhibition Opening Hours:

Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 1pm – 4pm

Wednesday: 1.30pm – 4.30pm

Saturday (Festival Day, 13th June): 10.30am – 4pm

Please note the McKechnie is closed Sunday and Monday.

🤝 Our Thanks

We want to say a huge thanks to our funders: Destination South Ayrshire, Nadara Wind Farm, The Girvan & District Community Council, and Land Energy. Without their generous support, the Tattie Fest wouldn't be possible.
